BHOF Accreditation 

BHOF’s Professional Education Program aims to provide superior quality, scientifically rigorous, independent, and impartial educational activities that are intended to improve the knowledge and competence of healthcare providers, thus influencing the quality of patient care. The program is dedicated to promoting excellence in clinical and professional performance in the prevention, diagnosis, and treatment of osteoporosis for all healthcare professionals.

Physicians

The Bone Health & Osteoporosis Foundation (BHOF) is accredited by the Accreditation Council for Continuing Medical Education (ACCME) to provide continuing medical education for physicians. ACCME accreditation accelerates learning, change and improvement in the field of osteoporosis.  The Bone Health & Osteoporosis Foundation is accredited by the Accreditation Council for Continuing Medical Education to provide continuing medical education for physicians. The Bone Health & Osteoporosis Foundation designates educational activities for AMA PRA Category 1 Credit(s)TM. Physicians should only claim credit commensurate with the extent of their participation in the activity.

Nurses

Bone Health & Osteoporosis Foundation is accredited as a provider of nursing continuing professional development by the American Nurses Credentialing Center's Commission on Accreditation.


Other Health Care Professionals

 A certificate of attendance will be provided to all other attending healthcare professionals.

Nurse practitioners and physician assistants may request AMA PRA Category 1 Credit(s)™ certificate of participation. Please refer to your provider to determine whether this program will qualify for other categories of continuing education credits. The American Academy of Physician Assistants (AAPA) also accepts educational activities certified for AMA PRA Category 1 Credit™ from organizations accredited by the Accreditation Council for Continuing Education (ACCME).

For selected activities, application will be made for additional accreditation. Please refer to each specific activity for further details.

The Bone Health & Osteoporosis Foundation’s policy requires that the content and quality of all professional education activities are balanced, independent, objective, and scientifically rigorous.

This disclosure requirement is required of individuals serving on committees, conference chairs, and authors of live, internet, enduring materials, journal, editors, presenters/faculty, BHOF Staff, and anyone else involved in the professional education planning process.
